ICT Integration in CBC for Early Years and Primary School Teachers
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed to equip early years and primary school teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Participants will learn how to use ICT tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning, foster digital literacy among students, and promote 21st-century skills development.
Specific Training Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of ICT integration in the CBC.
- Identify appropriate ICT tools and resources for early years and primary education.
- Create engaging and interactive ICT-enhanced lessons and activities.
- Foster digital literacy skills among students.
- Assess and evaluate the impact of ICT integration on learning outcomes.
- Address challenges and concerns related to ICT integration.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support ICT-enhanced learning.

COURSE OUTLINE
Day 1: Introduction to ICT Integration in CBC
- Understanding the CBC framework and its goals
- The role of ICT in CBC
- Benefits and challenges of ICT integration
- Digital literacy in early years and primary education
Day 2: Selecting and Evaluating ICT Resources
- Identifying age-appropriate ICT tools and resources
- Evaluating the quality and relevance of digital content
- Adhering to ethical and safety guidelines in ICT selection
- Accessing open educational resources (OERs) and online libraries
Day 3: Planning ICT-Enhanced Lessons
- Designing lesson plans that incorporate ICT
- Aligning ICT integration with CBC learning outcomes
- Differentiating instruction using ICT
- Promoting creativity and critical thinking through ICT
Day 4: Implementing ICT in the Classroom
- Effective classroom management for ICT use
- Facilitating student engagement and collaboration
- Monitoring and guiding students during ICT activities
- Incorporating formative assessment through ICT
Day 5: Assessing Impact, Addressing Challenges, and Staying Current
- Methods for assessing student learning with ICT
- Analyzing data and feedback to improve instruction
- Addressing common challenges in ICT integration
- Collaborating with colleagues and parents to support ICT-enhanced learning
- Exploring emerging trends and technologies in educational ICT
Assessment and Certification:
- Participants will complete assignments and quizzes throughout the 5-day course.
- A final project, such as the implementation of an ICT-enhanced lesson, will be required.
- Course completion certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of all requirements.
