THE UPGRADE PROGRAM to DPTE
Introduction
Following the phasing out of ALL Teachers certificate courses (ECDE and P1); the MOE has introduced an UPGRADE PROGRAMME from PTE certificate to DPTE, targeting many teachers who are currently in service. The upgrade programme is designed to enable the candidates to take all the professional courses where the principles of CBC are embedded.
Admission Requirements
KNEC PTE (P1) Certificate
Duration of training
Five (5) school terms: Four (4) terms for coursework and one (1) term for practicum. The Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) shall be graded as stipulated by KNEC
Mode of Study
- Blended mode with some face-to-face sessions during weekends and School holidays
